 Also commonly called “single-process hair color,” all-over color is a one-step process that involves coating the hair with a single shade.

Within all-over/single process hair color, there are three levels: semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent.

As their names suggest, they vary in strength and in how long they last. Permanent color, obviously, lasts the longest. It’s also typically the only all-over color that employs ammonia (or ammonia derivatives), meaning that it’s a little tougher on your strands, but it can lighten or darken your hair up to 4 levels in either direction.

Demi-permanent hair color is far gentler on your tresses, but in exchange, it doesn’t last quite as long. It generally only lasts 24-26 shampoos.

Of course, you can probably guess by now that semi-permanent hair color is the gentlest—and the fastest to fade. If you’re not quite ready to commit to a color, you can always try out a semi-permanent shade before you take the plunge.

 Hair highlighting/low-lighting is changing a person's hair color, using lightener or hair color to lift the level or brightness of hair strands. There are four basic types of highlights: foil highlights, hair painting, frosting, and chunking. Highlights can be any color, as long as it's a lighter level than the surrounding hair. Hair lightened with bleach or permanent color will be permanent until new growth begins to show. Highlighted hair can make the hair appear fuller. Therefore, it is sometimes recommended for people with thin and fine hair. It also a recommended service for achieving better color balance with people that have at least 50% gray, and it also helps to diminish the line of demarcation once the new growth is showing from permanent hair color. 

Balayage is applied via painting rather than folding the hair into foils, which gives it a more cohesive, natural, and layered look. 

Because the hair isn’t dyed in precise sections from the root, balayage gives hair a more cohesive and natural. Therefore, it’s less likely that roots will grow out and look unnatural, meaning hair that has gotten balayage won’t need touch-ups. The Pro Stylist will pick sections of hair to be dyed, usually concentrating on the top layer of hair, the ends, and the pieces that frame the face. This will make for a softer grow-in and creates the natural softness that makes balayage unique.

 A platinum card is a technique in which we foil every piece of hair on a clients head to achieve a platinum or all over lighter color result without any dimension in between. A platinum card is essentially a modern version of bleach and tones. The difference is that a bleach and tone isn't insulated in a foil. A platinum card is encased in foils to create optimal lift getting very dark hair as light as possible in one appointment. 

Platinum Card technique for the guest who wants to be lighter globally, from black to blonde or grown-out balayage with blonde ends. Important it is that clients are diligent with home maintenance. The Platinum Card gives the maximum amount of lift in one session, while also allowing amazing control when working with bands. This is not for the client who won’t take care of her hair at home with proper thermal protection and treatments, Any time you make that type of physical change to the hair structure, you’re going to need aftercare and be gentle with it.
